About Alyssa
Alyssa Parry is a Utah-based artist with a background in color theory and botanicals. After studying many subjects including music, nursing, hair design, floral design (and many other things that would make this list too long) she landed on her true passion--art.
Wearing many hats, she is most proud of her "mothering" cap and is smitten by her two kids, Violet and Louie. She spends her days loving them, squeezing them, and maybe fixing a lunch in-between all the cuddles and games of "go-fish".
Besides art and her cute kiddos, Alyssa loves to sing at the top of her lungs (not well), drink Diet Coke, read a good book #kindlegirly, and travel the world.
About my work
Growing up immersed in art from generations of maternal and paternal influences, Alyssa couldn't help but love creativity and art. Alyssa spent her high school days studying art through AP art classes and weekends studying under the tutelage of Donna O. Kearney and Sean Kearney. It was there that she studied several mediums including watercolor, charcoal, oil, and airbrush. It was there that her love for art was solidified.
Alyssa shifted her focus to acrylic and watercolor at BYU-Idaho and later studied color theory for a year in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Her work has been displayed and featured in several markets, galleries, and competitions including:
LDS Church History Museum- International Youth Art Competition
Architectural Digest
Artistic Habit Studio Gallery
JKR Gallery
Utah Art Market
Bijou Market
Intermountain Layton Hospital
With a serious passion for humanitarian work, Lyss hopes to pursue it more in the future. Her favorite humanitarian works have been funding a school in Ghana, West Africa, and curating an art fundraiser to raise over $130k for Ukrainian Refugees.
